CP Musical Theater 2024 (Middle School Play)
Aiden Kalantarov
On January 12th the Middle School had its opening night for the 13 The Musical. The musical is about a 12 year old boy named Evan (played by Nicholas Scaccia) who is forced to move from New York to Indiana. He faces normal challenges that any tween that’s getting ready to become a teen would face but he also has something else to worry about. His bar mitzvah.
The musical was directed by Sydney Perruzza. Overall the musical was a success and the cast and crew had a great time performing and rehearsing. Closing night on January 13th had a great atmosphere and there were definitely improvements as the cast and crew learned from any mistakes made in opening night. Both performances were amazing. The sets were especially fitting for what was happening in the musical.
The musical definitely represented what a tween transitioning into a teen feels like and all the challenges that we face. As well as showing how a boy feels it also shows how a girl might feel with Patrice (played by Melina Roussis), Kendra (played by Arianna Furino), and Lucy (played by Alyssa Ceccoli). The entire cast and crew did a great job with this play and I’m sure the next one will be great.
NOTE: This weekend, CP Theater presents Little Shop of Horrors for the spring CPHS play. Shows run on Friday, March 8th and Saturday, Marth 9th! Be sure to get your tickets!
