Unity Day Recap

Unity Day Recap

By: Isabella Cezario & Katherine Mazaroski

Wednesday, October 20th was Unity Day. Unity day is a day for students nationwide to unite against bullying and stand together in kindness and acceptance. Students were asked to wear orange to show their support against bullying. The Builders Club put together a pledge banner that was hung outside the main entrance. Students were asked to write their names on the bottom of the banner to show their support. The Builders Club was also giving out ¨kindness cards¨, a card that would be passed out to those walking into school, which stating for the receiver to give out their card after they performed a kind deed for someone, and then whoever was giving the card from the last receiver would perform another kind deed and spread the card around, as a kind of debt given in the form of the cards, that would be repaid by being kind to their peers. This was to spread kindness around the school and to hopefully inspire others to make an effort to incorporate small acts of kindness into their everyday lives.

Unity Day is a day in which we spread awareness for bullying, and come together as a school and a community to support kindness and acceptance. We hope that you all will be kind and accepting, and to spread a little kindness wherever you are. 🙂
