The Lion King:

A Carle Place Musical

By Christian Ferrandina

Rushmore Avenue School became the Newest addition to the Carle Place Theater Company this school year with their installment of the Lion King. The show cast a series of 5th and 6th graders to portray the animals we all know and love.

However, this wasn’t your typical Lion King musical since some aspects of the show were altered to suit the young cast. To simplify the child actors portrayed what is known as “The Lion King Kids” and was unique in the way that the child actors were able to communicate to their audience of parents in both a serious and comedic manner.

While watching the musical I have come to the conclusion to say that the Rushmore theater company exceeded my expectations in both their acting skills and their management strategies and I am excited to see what they have in store for next season.
