Halloween Movies: Hubie Halloween

In the month of October, watching Halloween movies is my favorite thing to do to get ready for Halloween. Netflix released a new Halloween movie called Hubie Halloween on October 7th.

 Hubie Halloween plot:

Taking place in Salem, Massachussetts this Halloween movie has a recognizable cast including actors like Adam Sandler, Maya Rudolph, June Squibb and Kenan Thompson. Many former Disney stars also made an appearance like Karan Brar, Paris Berelc, China Anne McClain, Bradley Steven Perry and many more. Halloween night became more mysterious because a mental institute patient, Richie Hartman (Rob Schneider) escaped with a vendetta against his home town. Hubie Dubois  (Adam Sandler) is the kindest person in Salem, making him an easy target for jokes. Pete (Ray Liotta), Mike (Karan Brar), Lester Hennessey (Tim Meadows) and Mary Hennessey (Maya Rudolph) played jokes and pranks to make fun of Hubie, and on that same night they went missing. Because they were all with Hubie the day they went missing, it’s up to Hubie to prove his innocence and save Halloween from the real villain.

Cameron Boyce:

Hubie Halloween was dedicated to Cameron Boyce, who recently passed away in 2019.  Cameron Boyce was an actor especially know for his role as Luke Ross in Jessie. He passed away in July 6, 2019 at 20 years old due to a seizure. He took part in the Thirst Project which allowed many communities worldwide receive clean water.

  My review:

Hubie Halloween had an amazing cast and the trailer was very well made. It did a great job giving a Halloween mood and made gave me the Halloween “feel” I was looking for. This comedy is a great movie to watch with the family and had an unexpected plot twist, but my favorite part of the movie was the lesson. It teaches the lesson when someone makes fun of you, it’s because they are jealous of you. It is revealed that Mike, Pete, Lester and Mary Hennessey make fun of Hubie because they all have insecurities and things they can’t have. Even though, Hubie doesn’t have everything, he still finds a way to be happy, he makes the best of it.
